scavnj grew out of a simple idea: the World Wide Web is already the largest landscape people explore every day, so why not let it hide treasure in plain sight? Instead of building an imaginary world from scratch, OnionWorx decided to treat the existing web as the playground, and turn ordinary browsing into a kind of quiet digital scavenger hunt.
At its heart, scavnj is a working browser first and a game second. You can use it to visit normal pages, search for information, read articles, and wander from site to site just as you always would. But now there is the added possibility that a page may be carrying something extra: a hidden egg, a subtle bubble, a clue, a collectible marker, a reward code, a downloadable file, or a message that only appears to players who happen to arrive in the right place.
That makes the experience feel a little different from a traditional game. scavnj does not ask players to enter a sealed arena and forget the rest of the internet. Instead, it lets the internet remain itself: vast, messy, useful, surprising, and occasionally generous. A player might be browsing for work, looking up a recipe, reading about local history, or visiting a business website, and suddenly discover that someone has hidden a small piece of treasure there for them to find.
